“Who would like to watch the Red Bull Global Rallycross in Atlantic City this weekend?”
That was the question posed to children during a Racing for Kids sponsored visit to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Atlantic County Specialty Care Center on Thursday August 10, 2017. Fifteen of the 20 young patients in the classroom immediately raised their hands.
That positive response earned the youngsters tickets to the Global Rallycross Races in Atlantic City last weekend.
Racing For Kids hosted race Drivers Steve Arpin of Loenbro Motorsports and Patrik Sandell and Chris Atkinson of Subaru Rally Team at the visit to the esteemed facility.
The Trio of Drivers met with some 60 youngsters, autographing RFK Baseball Caps, posters, and posing for pictures with each youngster and classroom. The kids returned the favor by crayon drawings of Race Cars for the Drivers.
Sandell and Arpin then completed the weekend with podium finishes. This included a second-place finish by Sandell and two third place finishes by Arpin in the Global Rally Cross Atlantic City double header.
