At the Annual Elkhart Lake (Road America Race) Welcome Party, on June 19, popular IndyCar Rookie Louis Foster agreed to shave off his controversial mustache for $1000, with the proceeds going to Racing For Kids® — the party’s beneficiary. He was thanked mightily for his sacrifice.
But then Foster won the pole position (his first in IndyCar) at The Grand Prix At Road America and the rookie was resoundingly celebrated.
His response to the cheers: Foster and Droplight, his IndyCar team sponsor, upped the weekend’s charity ante and presented Racing For Kids with a check for $15,000.
“What a wonderful and generous gesture from Louis Foster and Droplight,“ said J. Patrick Wright, longtime CEO and Executive Director of Racing For Kids. “Their generosity will support our IndyCar driver children’s hospital visits program and our hospitalized ‘Kids At The Track’ events.”
