HISTORIC SIEBKENS RESORT TO HOST ELKHART LAKE WELCOME PARTY DURING VERIZON INDYCAR WEEKEND

The historic Siebkens Saloon will host the official Elkhart Lake Welcome Party to kick off the Verizon IndyCar Series’ return to Road America on Thursday, June 21. The welcome party will benefit Racing For Kids®, a non-profit charity that partners with motorsports to bring awareness and funding to childrens’ hospitals and child healthcare organizations.

Founded in Detroit in 1989, Racing For Kids® has taken popular motorsports drivers to visit more than 32,000 kids in over 650
children’s hospitals around the world – raising nearly  $6.5 million. Donations will be accepted throughout the evening during the
Welcome Party.

All teams in the Verizon IndyCar Series and Pirelli World Challenge paddocks are invited to this free event, along with race rans, Elkhart Lake residents, friends and family. The party kicks off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21 at the Siebkens Resort Alley with a DJ  beginning at 9:00 p.m. in the Saloon.

The party will feature motorsports industry and Elkhart Lake exhibitors, show cars, entertainment, and a cash bar. The first 200 guests will also receive a free drink koozie. Table reservations in Siekbens Main Dining Room are available by calling 920-876-2600.

There will be a – complimentary shuttle, provided by Road America from 6:30 – 11:00 p.m.  The shuttle will do round trip service between the west side of the Sargento Bridge in Road America and Siebkens Tavern Main Entrance. Donation buckets will be available on each shuttle bus.

V12 wines, owned by Jimmy Vasser, co-owner of the Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan Verizon IndyCar team, is one of the sponsors for the event. “V12 wines is excited to support the Elkhart Lake Welcome Party benefiting Racing For Kids,” Vasser said. “Elkhart Lake and Siebkens Resort have always held a special place in my heart, and to couple it up with supporting Racing For Kids is a great match. I look forward to seeing the paddock and the fans out at this event.”

Siebkens Resort was opened in 1916 after being purchased by Herman Siebken. The resort remains family-owned to this day, and boasts the traditional antique style started by Herman’s daughter Ollie. The resort, especially the Saloon, has become world famous among race fans and is the place to be every June when the Verizon IndyCar weekend rolls around. Today, the resort is owned and operated by Herman’s granddaughters – Laurie and Lisa.
